Maura Allen | Principal, Segesta Communications
Maura Allen has more than 20 years experience in marketing communications within the business-to-business arena. For the past seven years, she has consulted and worked with Toigo's team on a wide range of marketing and outreach initiatives.
Allen founded Segesta in 1996 to serve as an independent consultant to the nation's most admired and recognized brands, including top venture capital, private banking, law and accounting firms. Segesta is a boutique firm that builds and manages teams based on each client's marketing and communications needs. In addition to the Toigo Foundation, clients include CalPERS, Ernst & Young, JPMorgan Chase, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, The Mark Company, Northgate Capital, Orrick, Pacific Gas & Electric, Pacific National Bank, and VantagePoint Venture Partners.
Allen has a proven track record of helping professional service firms package and promote their expertise with creative marketing programs, client outreach efforts, and content that garners attention and action. Clients look to Segesta for creative program development, including programs aimed at reaching and influencing C/suite executives and high net worth individuals. A writer by training, Allen provides a range of copywriting services, including website, print materials, thought leadership studies, and press materials. She helps clients communicate their point of difference in areas ranging from finance and investment to human capital, risk management, and more.

Before starting Segesta, Allen served as public relations director for a global law firm with 1,000-plus attorneys serving emerging and established corporations in technology, health and consumer industries. Prior to that, she was Vice President at a Silicon Valley PR agency working with clients such as TeleCommuncations Inc., Ernst & Young, IDG Publishing, Activision and PF Flyers.
Allen was named a 2006 Telly Award recipient for her work as a creative consultant on an Ernst & Young video production.
She holds a B.A. in Classical Studies/Latin from Stanford University.
