The Toigo Difference
The Robert Toigo Foundation was founded in the late 1980s with a vision to directly address the lack of diversity within the finance industry. From the start, Toigo's focus has been to find, develop and support the next generation of leadership within the finance industry. Today, Toigo is the only non-profit initiative that reaches pre-, current and post-MBA graduates working exclusively in the field of finance.
Toigo concentrates its efforts on select individuals who have the promise and proven ability to drive change within the finance industry–the top talent with the greatest leadership potential. This specialized approach differs from other non-profits addressing diversity and inclusion issues by allowing Toigo to develop and deliver unique programs that support each professional's needs and tailor our support as those professional and personal needs change.
To be a catalyst for change, the Foundation recognizes that developing great talent is not enough–we also needed to forge a partnership with the finance firms seeking to hire that talent. Our 20-year partnership with industry is aimed at fostering work environments where minority talent can thrive, and where each organization can fully capitalize on the benefits and power of diverse teams–views you can hear about in Redefining Leadership. Toigo's "Retention Returns" thought leadership report focusing on issues regarding minority talent retention and inclusion within the industry stimulates dialogue at all levels of leadership within industry firms.
The unique interchange between the Foundation, our Fellows and industry firms is at the core of what we do and what differentiates our work and achievements from other non-profits committed to diversity and inclusion. Toigo's programs and support of its Fellows are designed to enhance the MBA experience and internal firm training and mentoring programs-not replace them. Our goal is to provide the next generation of minority leaders with the support and skills needed to achieve next level of leadership.
