    • Job Description: Associate
    • Position Summary:Working closely with the senior management team, the Associate will be responsible for qualifying potential investment opportunities. He/she should bring the analytical, investing, communications and strategic skills needed to make an immediate and valuable contribution to the organization. This person must be able to work with people senior and junior to them in terms of responsibility and foster a team environment. Specific responsibilities in order of priority include:
    • Review and assist in qualifying prospective investment opportunities.
    • Assess investment opportunities and manage existing portfolio performance, critically thinking about key risks & mitigants.
    • Screen, analyze, complete due diligence on prospective investment opportunities.
    • Play an active role in investment transactions from start to finish, including legal documentation and all closing logistics. Partner with legal counsel to review fund and deal terms, negotiate and execute investment transactions.
    • Meet with seller representatives.
    • Prepare term sheets and LOIs, including financial structuring and purchase price mechanics.
    • Oversight and accountability for all analyses, valuations, and modeling.
    • Build and modify models for investment program cash flow projection, fund cash flow and return analysis.
    • Manage work-streams with third party consultants to complete valuations on prospective investments, valuations on existing investments, and other market research projects.
    • Prepare investment memorandums and present recommendations along with due diligence findings to internal committees, board members, and clients.
    • Assist in deal negotiations and discussions for prospective investment opportunities.
    • Assist with securing debt for new prospective investment opportunities and with managing the company’s existing lender relationships.
    • Track and monitor portfolio results and support the preparation / review of quarterly and annual valuations.
    • Report on company/portfolio performance and draft investor communications, including periodic updates on company/portfolio performance.
    • Client relationship management support including ongoing portfolio management and reporting activities.
    • Think as a principal investor, converting market knowledge and due diligence findings into professional investment recommendations.
    • Supervise and mentor junior analysts/interns by training them on investment analysis and internal processes.
    • Assist with special projects (business development, board materials, investor relations, etc.) on an as-needed basis.
    • Candidate Profile:The Associate will be a high-energy individual who has experience in the investment banking, credit underwriting, and / or private equity. The person must be a team player who believes in accountability, project ownership, have a strong sense of urgency, and is results oriented.
    • Prospective candidates should have the following background and qualifications:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree from leading academic institution with a concentration or major in Accounting, Finance, Math, Engineering or Economics.
    • Three to five years of investment banking, private equity, or TMT credit underwriting experience.
    • Highly motivated individual with intellectual curiosity, strong analytical and financial modeling skills
    • Excellent intuitive math skills with a systemized and probabilistic way of thinking.
    • Enjoys asking questions, expressing opinions and being actively engaged in internal discussions regarding investment strategy and recommendations.
    • Passion for investing combined with a strong work ethic, integrity, and a commitment to individual development.
    • Flexible, responsive, keen attention to detail, inquisitive nature, and driven to excel in all aspects of the analytical process.
    • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage time.
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
    • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and work on a small team in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong communications skills including an ability to make presentations to senior executives and clearly articulate oneself in both written and oral forms.
    • Willingness to travel.
