About Candide Group:

Candide Group leverages capital to support the transition away from an extractive global economy to one that is built upon values of social justice and sustainability. We support families, foundations, and other investors who want to flow their money to social justice-focused companies, funds, and vital organizations building a new economy. As a Registered Investment Advisor, we focus on private assets — debt, private equity, real assets, and innovative new structures — where there are both real capital needs and opportunities for mission-aligned investors to build impactful portfolios. We recognize that achieving our values will require an intense reorganization of society, and thus the pursuit of multiple strategies — in addition to our core line of work pursuing transformative impact through investing, we also leverage traditional advocacy through active participation in activism campaigns, work with other organizations about how they can better align their money and values, and maintain a thriving presence in media to affect change.

The past few years have been a time of phenomenal growth and development for Candide Group, and since inception we have directed over $200m into over 100 companies and funds thus far (as of September 2022). Over half our portfolio is led by people of color and women — in general, we have a strong commitment to equity and inclusion both within our team and the teams we invest in. As we continue to add more relationships of families, foundations and institutions who want their money working for justice, our team is growing to serve those clients.

About this Position:

We are hiring a Client Services Associate, who will provide support for all aspects of the client experience and the investment team of Candide Group. Working alongside our senior investment team members, this is an exciting opportunity for someone deeply curious about impact investing and how to make finance a tool for social change, without needing to have explicit investment experience.

Tasks Include:

  • Building and holding detailed knowledge of our clients including their portfolio strategies, impact goals and general preferences.
  • Researching and providing expert resources in response to client inquiries, whether within Candide Group or the greater impact investing and social justice world.
  • Cultivating and enhancing new and existing client relationships through prompt and clear communication, scheduling meetings and managing calendars, agenda management, and making sure key information remains current.
  • Being the administrative lead for our investment team which includes supporting our advisors when they have questions about client strategies or need to locate key documents.
  • Being responsible for keeping client files and notes organized, accessible, and updated.
  • Support the investment process–helping to identify suitable investments for a particular client’s interests, and shepherding the investment execution process such as sending and filing documents.
  • Supporting conversations with prospective clients, learning their interests and responding to requests for information.

Skills for succeeding in this role include:

  • Authentic enjoyment of and care for our clients and the greater team at Candide Group.
  • Incredible organizational and keen memory skills—managing large amounts of highly specific and critical information.
  • Polished and precise communicator with nuanced interpersonal skills.
  • A strong ability to upmanage, given this role will support at least 3 senior investment advisors who often work across different time zones.
  • Knowledge of Asana is a plus or experience with other cloud-based applications for workflow management is critical.
  • Some knowledge of impact investing, but mostly, a strong desire to learn more about the universe of companies and funds working for social, environmental and racial justice.
