The Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Group reports directly to Prudential's Chief Financial Officer, and is responsible for the acquisition and divestiture activities across all of Prudential's businesses, including insurance and asset management, in the United States and abroad. Since its inception in the late 1990s, the group has closed more than 70 transactions with aggregate value in excess of $15 billion. The group is also responsible for sourcing acquisitions as well as select strategic analyses.

About the Position

The Associate position is a transaction-based position with a significant amount of international activity. Responsibilities will include:
  • Develop the valuation for potential acquisitions and divestitures
  • Model pro forma scenarios associated with potential acquisitions and divestitures
  • Perform cash flow and return analysis
  • Work with legal and tax counsel to structure acquisitions and draft proposals and bid letters
  • Conduct and coordinate due diligence
  • Source and research prospective acquisition candidates and present findings to senior management
  • Other select strategic analyses
Qualifications

 

  • MBA Degree Required: Graduation dates of May/June 2019
  • Two or more years of transaction-related experience, including a significant amount of M&A transactions, preferably at an investment bank
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling and excel skills
  • Experience building three-statement financial models
  • Strong written, oral communication, leadership, collaboration and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to translate complex analyses into structured recommendations and present to all levels of management
  • Ability to work in, and be comfortable with, a fast paced and fluid environment
  • Experience in the insurance or financial services industry is preferred, but not required
