Position

The Diversity & Inclusion Manager will be based in Boca Raton, Florida and report to the Head of Human Resources. The Diversity & Inclusion Manager will be responsible for the planning and execution of the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) strategy including increasing employee minority representation, firmwide programming and training, charitable giving, and community involvement.

Responsibilities

  • Create and drive strategies to source diverse talent including via existing firm partners and new relationships with external organizations in the DEI space; increase diverse representation of Polen Capital’s employees including but not limited to gender, ethnicity, LGBTQ, veterans, and disabled individuals
  • Identify, educate on, and reduce potential biases within the firm’s interview processes; refresh job descriptions with inclusive language/wording to reach and attract a more diverse audience
  • Develop and deepen connections with high school, college, university, and graduate school career offices
  • Design and oversee minority-focused externships and internships at the high school-, college-, and pre-MBA levels with skills development, training, education, and mentorship programming
  • Coordinate giving from Polen Capital’s donor advised fund, for the sole purpose of supporting diversity-driven charitable organizations
  • Enhance local community involvement within the D&I space via volunteerism and charitable giving
  • Drive employee engagement and allyship through new initiatives and programming such as establishing ERGs and hosting events that drive inclusivity and increase awareness
  • Partner with Marketing on inclusive web content and materials and firm-level ESG/CSR efforts
  • Ensure diverse employees receive tailored coaching, development, and mentorship to support career development and progression within Polen Capital
  • Establish reporting mechanisms and produce metrics to show progress against initiatives and results

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Human Resources, with a focus on D&I
  • Prior experience within financial services and/or investment management preferred
  • Interest in and/or history of community involvement
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills and building relationships
  • Self-starter and proven ability to work on multiple concurrent projects
  • Ability to leverage social media and applicant tracking systems
  • Commitment to agility, continuous learning, and marginal improvement
  • Best-in-class professionalism and ability to be “the face of Polen Capital” to prospective candidates for hire
