Position

The Head of Analytics will be responsible for setting and executing analytics strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for using analytics to establish a fact-based culture and organization, driving the adoption of Investment/Client/Sales analytics, identifying strategic opportunities to enhance business value, and partnering with leaders across the firm to improve results.  This position will report into the Chief Operating Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior leadership, vision, advocacy, and guidance for how Investment/Client/Sales analytics, data, measurement, and reporting can meaningfully enhance Polen Capital’s business and results
  • Manage an existing analytics organization comprised of three teams: Investment Analytics, Business Analytics, and Client Performance Reporting
  • Work closely with our Chief Technology Officer to assist with data management and integrity through participation with the Data Governance Committee
  • Identify best practices within Polen Capital as well as outside the organization to deepen the application of advanced analytics for all strategic priorities
  • Manage a team of analytics professionals; develop, attract, and retain top performing analytics talent
  • Benchmark data, analytics, and reporting capabilities; establish a roadmap to achieve best-in-class results in these areas
  • Develop a robust and consistent reporting framework for Management, Investment Teams, Distribution, and Marketing that effectively communicates performance
  • Mitigate potential areas of risk from use of analytics
  • Ensure data strategy and subsequent execution reflects adequate prioritization against firm goals and resources, and enables the most effective use of the data assets
  • Establish a center of excellence around data delivery through our Client Performance Reporting Group
  • Provide analytics and insights derived from multiple sources of data to help leaders make evidence-based decisions
  • Represent the Firm with integrity and model Firm values and professional standards

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline; Master’s degree or PhD preferred
  • 10+ years of experience within the Asset Management Analytics space
  • Solid understanding of all aspects of advanced analytics (data science, reporting, algorithms, machine learning, artificial intelligence, measurement, predictive modeling)
  • Outstanding leadership qualities; experience building and managing top performing analytics teams
  • Proven track record of working with senior marketing and distribution leaders
  • Strong strategic and “big idea” creative thinker with the ability to be hands-on and ensure flawless execution from self and team
  • Consummate team player who finds common ground and can build strong partnerships and effectively influence others
  • Prior experience managing a matrixed team across different geographies
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
