Bow River Capital is a private alternative asset management company based in Denver, Colorado. Founded in 2003, the firm was established with a vision of building a world class, diversified investment management platform committed to the middle market. We invest across three asset classes: Private Equity, Real Estate, and Software Growth Equity. Our Private Equity strategy seeks to invest in prominent companies with a differentiated offering, significant growth potential, and a demonstrated track record of success. Bow River’s Private Equity strategy targets majority investments in infrastructure services, business and tech-enabled services, and healthcare businesses. Our philosophy is rooted in partnering with strong management teams and working closely with them to facilitate scalable growth and enterprise value.
Private Equity at Bow River is fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and team-oriented. Directors at Bow River work closely with all levels of Private Equity investment professionals through every stage of an investment process. As a Director, you will play an integral role in deal origination, strategic management of portfolio companies, fund strategy, and equity value creation. You will also be expected to train and mentor team members and develop relationships with existing and prospective LPs.
Role Responsibilities:
• Play a leading role in deal origination and winning mandates, including ownership of comprehensive due diligence process, underwriting, risk management, capital structure, and confirmatory legal documentation
• Bring an in-depth understanding of due diligence processes, risk management and strategic vision for potential operating companies through active participation in Private Equity investment screening and committee meetings
• Meaningfully contribute to fundraising through existing and new institutional, intermediary, and family office/multifamily office relationships
• Work closely with portfolio company management to drive value-creation through proactive financial monitoring, development and execution of strategic initiatives, organizational design, go-to-market strategies, and board-level participation
• Oversee timely and strategic exits to deliver maximum returns to LPs, including oversight for marketing process, management team preparation, buyer selection, negotiation, and final closing documents
• Develop strong relationships with LP Advisory Committee members and assist with quarterly reporting/communications with LPs
• Travel required, approximately 25%-50% of time

Qualifications:
• 10+ years of experience in private equity and/or investment banking
• A proven investment and operations track record that demonstrates risk management, value creation, and capital appreciation
• Strong relationships with institutional investors, gatekeepers and/or family offices
• Bachelor’s degree and a distinguished academic background; MBA is a plus
• Demonstrated leadership experience; past track record of innovation and ability to make key strategic decisions
• Strong written/oral and presentation skills
• Collaborative and proactive approach to working in a team environment
• Track record of personal accomplishments
