THE POSITION:  The Quantitative Research Analyst at CornerCap will be integrated with the institutional research team and responsible for working with the investment and programming teams to develop and refine multi-factor investment models, identify and test new factors, understand data sources, and assist in investment education for the firm and institutional clients.  Focus will be on both domestic and international markets.  The position will have the opportunity to make immediate contributions as the firm looks to leverage its domestic equity expertise into international strategies, new initiatives for CornerCap.  The Quantitative Research Analyst will also be a member of the investment committee whose purpose is to provide input and audit the Fundametrics® research process.


Specific responsibilities for the Quantitative Research Analyst position may vary, but generally the analyst will be responsible for:

  • Working with the investment and programming teams to develop and refine multi-factor investment models
  • Identifying and testing new factors
  • Understanding and working with data sources
    Contributing to the education of both internal and external constituents about the Fundametrics® research model and/or factors under consideration
  • Participating in Investment Committee meetings, at times leading discussion and presenting findings and proposed enhancements to the model


QUALIFICATIONS:  Ideal candidates will have:

  • Undergraduate degree in finance, math, engineering or computer science
  • Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline - preferably finance, but consideration for statistics or mathematics
  • Programming experience in Python and SQL.  C# and MongoDB is an added plus
    CFA designation or progress toward the CFA
  • Proven knowledge of multi-factor models
  • Familiarity with international company financial statements is a plus
