Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  1. Performs investment research, keeping informed of developments in the investment management industry
  2. Sources new investment managers and monitors and reports on existing investment managers, with a particular focus on private market and hedge fund investments.
  3. Provides continual evaluation of the recommendations and performance of the investment platform including the model portfolios and underlying asset classes.
  4. Works on all investment matters acting as a thought leader to develop and implement appropriate investment policies and strategies; collaborates with CIO and other senior leaders to set strategic direction.
  5. Plays a key role in the investment research and client service efforts for a variety of clients including individuals, trusts, and private foundations.
  6. Conceptualizes and articulates complex financial and investment information that is tailored to client goals and values.
  7. Analyzes, constructs and manages client portfolios, client presentation materials and other client deliverables. Ensures a high level of accuracy and timely completion.
  8. Works collaboratively with other team members to provide sophisticated qualitative and quantitative support in the client portfolio management process.
  9. Works with the family’s team of FCI advisors, including Client Advisors, Financial Managers, Trust and Estate Consultants, and Tax Advisors, to determine potential consequences of investment decisions and their relationship to overall cash flow management, estate, and tax planning.
  10. Participates in projects as assigned by the Chief Investment Officer to accomplish department or company goals.

EDUCATION, TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. Advanced knowledge of investment concepts, including modern portfolio theory and the ability to apply those concepts in an ever-changing and increasingly complex financial environment.
  2. 10+ years related experience (investment portfolios, client relationships, investment manager research and selection, asset allocation).
  3. CFA and/or MBA preferred.
  4. Strong quantitative abilities and knowledge of appropriate tools.
