Our Opportunity

The Third-Party Platforms & Strategy organization is responsible for managing our third-party asset management platforms – maintaining a vibrant client experience while growing a revenue stream which is vital to Schwab’s overall financial health.  This group manages the following products: Mutual Funds, Managed Accounts, ETFs, 529s, Structured Products, and Alternative Investments. We develop new products and services for clients, build relationships with third-party asset management partners, maintain a healthy offering (e.g. by adding new funds or resources), and work effectively with outside firms to create a positive client experience.  

You will have the opportunity to support the relationships between Schwab and important third party asset managers who provide investment solutions to Schwab’s clients. You will use a strategic and data driven approach to execute on platform strategy, while coordinating efforts across numerous internal and external stakeholders.

What you are good at

  • Implementing a strategic approach to third-party asset manager relationships in partnership with Relationship Managers, based on a shared commitment to mutual goals and alignment with broader team strategy
  • Leveraging business data and information resources to develop narratives, diagnose issues, and drive conversations
  • Communicating quantitative data in creative and impactful ways to influence decision-making
  • Quickly analyzing and assessing complex relationships with asset managers 
  • Creating and maintaining presentations and collateral for a variety of strategic initiatives
  • Coordinating meetings with a range of constituents, including setting agendas, preparing materials, and driving follow up
  • Assist in development and maintenance of efficient processes that support the mandate of the team, including documentation of interactions in Salesforce, robust communication protocols, adherence to company policies and procedures, and overall risk mitigation

What you have

  • 2-5 years of management consulting or business development experience (or a similar B2B or professional services setting)
  • Strong data and analytics capabilities; ability to digest and distill large and disparate data into recommendations and actions
  • Experience with problem solving and framing complex ideas
  • Highly organized and detail oriented; strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize our most critical activities and drive toward timely completion
  • Self-motivation, with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude to work through ambiguity or challenges
  • Robust communication skills, both written and verbal, with demonstrated ability to develop materials and effectively present to and persuade audiences
  • Financial Services experience: Mutual Fund and ETF experience is a plus, along with an understanding of the micro and macro dynamics at play in the industry
  • Passion for being on the leading edge in a changing financial services environment
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, Business Objects, and Tableau
  • BA/BS degree
