A transformational leader, Nancy Sims has served as President and CEO of the Toigo Foundation for over two decades. Under her leadership, Toigo has emerged as one of the nation’s most respected platforms for cultivating the next generation of distinguished leaders across finance and investment.

With deep roots in the financial services sector, Nancy brings both frontline industry experience and a profound commitment to redefining leadership for the modern era. Her initial engagement with Toigo began as a board member while representing the real estate investment industry—an early connection that later evolved into her longstanding executive role. Throughout her leadership tenure, she has guided the Foundation through bold transformation, strategic reinvention and measurable impact.

Nancy’s service has been defined by high-impact partnerships that have reframed how the industry identifies, supports, and invests in leadership talent. She led the development of Pensions & Investments’ special issue, “Debunking the Myth Around Diversity and Inclusion,” spotlighting over 20 Toigo Fellows and Alumni in collaboration with leading institutional investors. She led Toigo’s contribution to the Harvard Business Review–published book Race, Work and Leadership, and the widely cited HBR.org feature “Toward a Racially Just Workforce,” solidifying the Foundation’s voice in conversations around leadership equity and institutional transformation.

In 2016, Nancy’s leadership in navigating Toigo through the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis was documented in the Case Research Journal—now studied in MBA and executive education programs nationwide as a model of organizational resilience and strategic innovation. She was among the first nonprofit leaders to provide in-person testimony to the U.S. House Financial Services Oversight Committee on inclusive talent practices in finance, drawing from Toigo’s extensive research and perspective.

Under her direction, Toigo’s reach expanded beyond the finance industry to include finance functions in key sectors, including technology, media/entertainment and more.  Her efforts have significantly elevated the visibility of Toigo talent across leadership pipelines, while expanding the scale and scope of those served. Nancy currently serves on the Advisory Board for Pensions & Investments’ Women in Institutional Investing initiative.

Nancy continues to shape an industry that reflects the excellence, perspective, and ambition of each new generation. Most recently, she led Toigo through a bold reinvention at the organization’s 35-year milestone—launching the LIFE and TLC programs that reignited energy, reaffirmed mission, and positioned the Foundation for a future of expanded impact and enduring relevance.
