Canyon intends to hire an Associate / Senior Associate to analyze non-investment grade corporate credit issuers, and recommend term loans and high yield bonds for the CLO Platform.

Responsibilities

• Work in a team-based environment to assist in all aspects of the investment process within Canyon’s $9bn CLO and loan separate account platforms including research, sourcing, analysis, presentation, execution and monitoring.
• Deep fundamental analysis of opportunities within multiple industry subsectors and across the capital structure, including first and second lien term loans and high yield bonds
• Fully integrated three-statement financial modeling
• Communication with buy side and sell side industry participants
• Identify attractive primary and secondary investment opportunities, actively monitor existing positions and provide ongoing buy / sell / hold recommendations throughout the company’s lifecycle
• Assistance with investment memoranda and recommendations to senior management

Requirements
Education:
• 4yr degree required
Preferred Experience:
• 1 –6 years of transactional experience from a major investment bank or a like institution.
• Prior investing experience

Skills and Qualifications:
• Must have demonstrated strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Must have the ability to distill large volumes of information into presentable format
• Strong knowledge of accounting and corporate finance
• Solid understanding of capital structure, and as a minimum have a general familiarity with credit markets
