We are currently seeking a Senior Equity Research Analyst to join our Aristotle Capital Boston team.

The Senior Equity Research Analyst will have various responsibilities, including but not limited to, the fundamental research of current equity holdings and prospective holdings (businesses) across the firm’s equity strategies. This position requires the individual to become familiar with Aristotle Boston’s unique investment approach, analyzing businesses from a bottom-up, fundamental perspective while working independently in the support of the Small and Smid Cap strategies. Our focus is the study of good business models, with a quality focus and long-term (3-5 years) view.

The position would include the analysis of company information contained in 10-Q and 10-K filings, annual reports, and industry data as well as information gleaned by attending investor meetings and conferences. It would also involve the development of unique proprietary sources of in-depth long-term business knowledge.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide fundamental and relative value research on existing holdings and generate investment ideas specific to the sectors.
  • Proactively communicate investment ideas by initiating discussions with portfolio managers and participating in group meetings.
  • Produce written reports such as company evaluations and quarterly updates, relative value analyses, and industry reviews.
  • Respond to portfolio manager inquiries regarding fundamental concerns, market overviews, and sector changes.
  • Interact with clients or client service professionals.

 

What You Will Need:

  • Individual must be driven, resourceful, and a self-starter.
  • Must work well in a team environment, including interaction with portfolio managers and other equity analysts.
  • Strong communication and financial analysis skills.
  • Previous industry sector research responsibilities.
  • Must be proficient in Excel and Word, at a minimum.
  • Possess proficient skills in financial statement analysis and application to small and mid-cap equities.
  • Performance track record is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of FactSet and Bloomberg.
  • Ability to manage databases a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • MBA from an accredited institution is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) license is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience assessing U.S. Small and Mid-cap equities is required.
  • Experience in at least two of the following sectors preferred – Health Care, Industrials, Financials, Information Technology or Consumer Discretionary.
